APES is funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation, May 2006

The Swiss National Science Foundation is funding the further development of APES in terms of a 15-months research project, starting from May 1. The project runs under the title: The Comparative Actor-Process-Event Scheme (CAPES): Towards a Cumulative Research in Political Science. Its focus lies mainly on the technical development of APES, as well as on the improvement of network and graph visualization, and the user-friendliness of the tool. The project is realized in collaboration with a programmer, responsible for the implementation of technical deployments, and with Prof. Ulrik Brandes and his team from the Department of Computer and Information Science at the University of Konstanz, Germany, as an external consultant. Ulrik Brandes and his team will focus on graph drawing and the visualization of policy networks.
